SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Loyola College Prep is introducing its first live mascot during the Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Sept. 19.
Loyola’s official mascot is the ”Red Baron Snoopy.“ The school got permission to use the image in 1966 directly from Peanuts cartoonist, Charles M. Schulz.
“Loyola has always been unique in having Snoopy, the Red Baron, as our mascot, and now we’re the only high school in the country to have a live Beagle mascot to match,” said Dr. Laurie Salvail, principal of Loyola College Prep. “Flyer is adorable, spirited, and already loved by our students. He represents what makes our school special tradition, joy, and Flyer pride.”
Flyer, an adorable beagle puppy, will now represent the mascot in physical form.
