VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A Virginia Beach couple is counting their blessings Friday after an unexpected visitor landed on their apartment building.

10 On Your Side broke the news of a crane falling onto an apartment building in the Town Center area Friday morning.

What started as a routine tree removal project ended with some tense moments at the Pembroke Square Apartments. Part of the tree was still standing when the boom of a large crane crashed into the roof of the building.

Units with the Virginia Beach Fire Department were dispatched to a technical rescue call at approximately 10:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Kellam Road, and when they arrived, they found the crane tipped over, and the boom on the roof.
