COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University is investing $14 million dollars to expand enrollment at its College of Nursing.

The announcement was made Wednesday by President Ted Carter during his Ohio State Founders Speech .

The College of Nursing at Ohio State is embracing both tradition and innovation to prepare students for the realities of bedside care. While students continue to learn the classic hands-on skills, a virtual hospital environment now allows them to practice and make mistakes safely without risking patient safety.

Students say this immersive virtual training builds confidence and clinical skills.

"It helps us be able to make mistakes in real time without threatening patient safety," said Aaron Johnson, a nursing student.
