NORFOLK, Va. — The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) has worked alongside Esmeralda Castle, Angelina Resendiz’s mother, since the moment Angelina was declared missing.

Their representatives told 13News Now that showing up to Wednesday’s preliminary hearing only skims the surface of how they plan to show up for Angelina’s family moving forward.

AnaLuisa Carrillo-Tapia is one of those LULAC members, working on the group's National Veterans Committee.

“The life of that service member is priceless. So, let’s make sure that we go and put value where it matters,” said Carrillo-Tapia.

During the preliminary hearing, prosecutors alleged that seaman Angelina Resendiz wasn’t Jermiah Copeland’s only victim.
