After a chilly start to the day, it was a nice Thursday across Hampton Roads. In fact, Norfolk International Airport got down to 59° Thursday morning, only two degrees warmer than the record low of 57°, set in 1946. By afternoon temperatures warmed into the lower 80s.

Clouds from earlier today have dissipated, and clear skied will persist overnight. The cool, autumn-like weather will continue tonight, with lows in the 50s for most areas, with lower 60s at the coast.

High pressure will remain in control of our weather to start things off on Friday. It will be a sunny start to the day, with a few clouds developing later into the day as a weak cold front approaches. Ahead of the front, with westerly winds, temperatures will climb into the lower-to-middle 80s.
