PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Earlier this month, the federal government adjusted its guidelines for the COVID vaccine, recommending prescriptions to get the shot at a pharmacist.
On Friday, the panel changed that, saying that there was no prescription needed for those ages 7 and older, but the panel also recommended people first speak with their doctor about it.
Oregon Governor Tina Kotek teamed up with the Governors from Washington, California and Hawaii to form the West Coast Health Alliance earlier this month. Two days ago, they decided on their own recommendations for the COVID-19 booster, outside of federal guidelines.
