CLEVELAND, Ohio — When the Guardians needed their bullpen to deliver during the most crucial series of the season, they got an unexpected boost from a familiar face who had been missing in action all year.

Tim Herrin, the left-handed reliever who had been shuttling between Cleveland and Columbus all season, suddenly looks like his dominant 2024 self again — and the timing couldn’t be better for a team making a historic playoff push.
