WARROAD — East Grand Forks Senior High had a 21-0 lead on the road over Warroad with 4:24 left in the third quarter.
Not a single point had come from the Green Wave offense.
Linebacker Braden Overgaard opened the scoring with a 13-yard pick-six in the second quarter, and East Grand Forks entered halftime with a slight 6-0 lead.
The Green Wave defense struck again less than five minutes into the third quarter. Brody Knutson scooped up a fumble and galloped to the opposing end zone for a 64-yard touchdown.
"It was just good to see our guys go out and make those plays, and not only get them, but return them for touchdowns," head coach Ryan Kasowski said. "That was just exciting for those kids, and obviously we needed a little momentum there in the second half."
