A crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Plum sent eight people to hospitals on Friday.

Post-Gazette news partner KDKA reported that at about 5:45 p.m., two North Allegheny School District buses were involved in a crash.

In a letter to parents, North Allegheny Superintendent Brendan Hyland said the buses were transporting the high school marching band to a football game at Norwin High School in North Huntingdon.

The letter added that there were “no noticeable injuries," but the students were evaluated by first responders at the scene and were sent to hospitals anyway, KDKA reported.

The school district said those sent to hospitals included six students and two adults, while other students were treated at the scene.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately clear.
