Those aren't jump ropes inside the Camino Real Middle School gym. In fact, it's rattlesnakes that have temporarily shut down the gym at the Las Cruces school.

"I don't know if it's an infestation, but, yeah, they have had to close their gym for a short period of time until they are no longer concerned," Michelle Ronga, the athletic director of Las Cruces Public Schools, said Friday. "They thought maybe it was a hole; they're not sure if the den is under there, so just as a safety precaution, they decided to close the gym."
