Fourth District Judge Jennifer Mabey has ruled against construction on the Heber Valley Utah Temple continuing. The reversal of her own prior ruling to allow construction came Friday and followed the Utah Supreme Court’s decision to take up the petitioners’ appeal of Mabey’s resolution.

Robert Mansfield, who is representing the Red Ledges residents who filed the lawsuit against Wasatch County and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said the group is “very pleased with the court’s ruling.”

The lawsuit filed in November 2023 claims that Wasatch County and the Church acted illegally when they approved development plans for the temple.
