The MHSAA football game between Detroit Cass Tech and Detroit King played at Tom Adams Field at Wayne State University on Friday, Sept. 19, was suspended in the third quarter due to overcrowding at the stadium.
Cass Tech led King, 20-0, with 5:58 left in the third quarter when officials from Detroit Public Schools gathered at midfield to discuss the overcrowding situation with coaches and referees. Fans had congregated around the south entrance and the southwest corner of the field and were asked to move into the stands.
