The death of a Henry Ford Hospital employee who'd obtained a personal protection order against her ex-husband, though it was never served, is shining a spotlight on how these orders are delivered, and one state lawmaker is drafting legislation to streamline the process while eliminating fees.

Latricia Green was fatally shot inside the hospital's main campus in late August, just weeks after she had obtained a PPO against Mario Green. He has now been charged with her killing, which at least one domestic violence shelter has called "preventable."
