GALVA, Ill. (KWQC) - Students in Galva combined reading with agriculture on Friday.

Kids in the Galva School District walked outdoors while reading the story as part of the district’s “Story Walk.”

The story was split into 17 different stations, where students were encouraged to connect with nature and the outdoors. One station had students walk through prairie grass, while another had a pine tree transformed into a reading room.

School officials said the story walk is a great way for children to use their imaginations and helps build a love for reading.

The project was created by Galva’s chapter of Future Farmers of America and was recently recognized as one of the top ten projects strengthening agriculture in the nation.
