GIBBON, Neb. (KSNB) - Gibbon Public Schools superintendent said he’s proud of his staff and students in how they handled the situation Thursday.
Superintendent Vern Fisher that he became aware of an outside threat toward the school.
He along with staff quickly assessed the situation, collaborated with law enforcement and then made the call to put the school in SECURE a little after noon.
SECURE means nobody is allowed in or out of the building and that education would resume as normal.
Fisher said he believed it was safer for everyone inside the school and that the timing when the event happened made it unique.
