HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Through the first three weeks of the season, the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals led the state in passing yards, relying on their senior quarterback, Parker Volk, and their senior wide receivers, Jack Poppe and Taylon Bennett to lead the way.

We felt like we could be pretty special, we felt like we could score points with anybody, we felt like we could be where we needed to be to win football games in the fourth quarter," said Head Coach Jordan Connor. “We’re very fortunate to have a very talented group, but also a group that has worked really hard and has done the things we’ve asked them to do.”

While the team was confident in the offense as a whole entering the season, Volk didn’t expect to be ranked first in the state through three weeks.
