Spanish Springs survived a late rally by Reno to remain undefeated heading into league play and Reed and Galena each rolled to wins in Friday night football.
Spanish Springs beat Reno, 33-25, Reed beat Carson, 38-3, and Galena shut out Wooster, 45-0.
In the Class 3A-North, Elko throttled South Tahoe 50-7, Lowry manhandled Sparks, 41-6. Truckee raced past Dayton, 42-6 and Fernley got past Spring Creek, 38-14.
Elko has a bye this week (Sept. 26) and then travels to play at Truckee on Oct. 3.
In the 5A/4A-North, all teams begin league play on Sept 26, including two rivalry games, McQueen at Reno in the Class 4A and, in the 5A, Reed plays at Spanish Springs on Friday (Sept. 26).
