The Kingsford Flivvers and the Marquette Sentinels have been two of the finest volleyball teams in the Great Northern Conference for the last several seasons.
But while the two squads have traded blows along the way, the Flivvers have taken the upper hand recently with seven consecutive victories, including Thursday night’s 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 victory at Marquette High School.
Senior middle Cassie Olson and junior outside hitter Mylee Kreider notched seven kills each, while Mya Brunswick and Staysha Jarski posted five apiece as the Flivvers increased their win streak against U.P. opponents to begin the 2025 season to 10.
