The Springport football team improved to 4-0 with its third shutout of the season, beating Maple Valley 35-0 on Friday.

The Spartans broke the game open with a 21-point second quarter. After a Gibson Overweg rushing score in the first quarter, Easton Merrill, Kolton Woymae and Kaden Woymae ran for touchdowns in the second. Kaden Woymae added a third-quarter score, finishing the game with 105 rushing yards. Merrill finished with 68 yards, as the Spartans had 41 carries for 242 yards as a team.
