The Golden Eagles were in need of a victory after three straight disheartening losses, but when Big Bear scored a go-ahead touchdown with 1:30 left in the game, it looked like another loss was imminent.
That's when quarterback Jaylen Turner and the Golden Eagles' offense turned things around.
There was 1:30 left on the clock, but it only took Turner and company 32 seconds to score, when Turner threw his third touchdown pass of the game. The defense then made a stop on fourth down to seal the win and set up the victory formation.
And it was a milestone victory at that. With the win, Roy Provost became the all-time winningest coach at Desert Hot Springs. He now has 17 wins in 29 games as the Golden Eagles coach. The previous mark was 16, set by current Rancho Mirage coach L.D. Matthews.
