I have enjoyed communicating with local teachers who have taken me up on my earlier offer in this column of adding Tulsa World print editions to their classrooms through a discounted subscription.

I mentioned this in light of the teacher who reached out saying she wants her students to read the news but is dealing with limits on cellphones and all electronics in the classrooms after a new state law passed.

I like what Peter Lee, a teacher and coach at Booker T. Washington High School, told me: “I think it’s a great opportunity for kids to stay informed on local issues, and with kids today, you must put things in front of their face, or they aren’t going to read it.”
