DOVER – There was no panic on the Winnacunnet sideline after Dover senior receiver Jackson Brock broke free and scored an 84-yard touchdown to give the visiting Green Wave a 14-0 lead midway through the third quarter.
Instead of panicking, the Warriors got working.
Winnacunnet scored on three of its final four drives and rallied for a 21-14 Division I win at Alumni Field on Friday, Sept. 19.
“This is a veteran team,” Winnacunnet head coach Ryan Francoeur said. “You get a little nervous when you put yourself in a hole and there’s no margin for error. We got to a point where we didn’t have any margin for error. We didn’t make any errors from that point on. I am proud of this team for doing it, but, no, I am not surprised.”
Winnacunnet improved to 3-0 on the season, while Dover is 0-3.
