CONNORVILLE — Trailing by three scores late in the second half, Buckeye Local was facing a big challenge as it looked to avoid a second-straight loss.

The Panthers were up to the challenge.

Buckeye Local stormed back by scoring the game’s final 28 unanswered points for a 36-30 comeback win over visiting Pittsburgh Carrick Friday night at World War II Memorial Stadium.

The Panthers trailed 30-8 early in the third quarter before the big rally. They improve to 2-3 on the season.

Xavier Eastham rushed for a pair of TDs in the win, while Chase Worwa and Grant Dombroski each ran for a score and Daniel Divjak hauled in a scoring pass from Dombroski.

Buckeye Local will host 3-1 Oak Glen next Friday night.
