One of the surest bets anyone could make in the coming days would be to wager that the Supreme Court will back President Trump in his effort to terminate Lisa Cook, the Joe Biden-appointed governor of the Federal Reserve who Trump has accused of having committing three counts of mortgage fraud.

Regardless of her guilt or innocence, she’ll soon be out of a job -- which legal history and the present Supreme Court makeup all but guarantee. When President Trump fired Cook, she sued. After a D.C. judge ruled in her favor, the U.S. Department of Justice appealed and lost. Accordingly, the case will assuredly zoom up to the Supreme Court, and quite soon.
