WAUSAU − United Way of Marathon County has distributed $254,000 to six local nonprofits, according to a community announcement.
The funding comes from the Otto Bremer Trust Community Responsive Fund, and the Otto Bremer Trust chose the United Way of Wisconsin network as its philanthropic intermediary. Statewide, United Ways facilitated the distribution of $2 million from the fund.
“Any time that we can bring additional funds into our community, is a good thing,” Ben Lee, United Way director of community impact, said in the announcement. “We’re grateful that the Otto Bremer Trust saw the value in this partnership and that we’re able to make some really great investments in our community because of that partnership.”
The six nonprofits receiving funds are the Boys & Girls Club of the Waus
