W hen we pray, do we pray for our mortal selfhood — for what it wants? Prayer in which we identify ourselves and others as God’s expression or idea is effective prayer. In our at-one-ment with God, we lose sight of the mortal we think we are.
We should replace the question, “What must I do to be healed?” with the question, “What is God doing?” As we seek to acknowledge what He is doing and find ourselves a part of it, our prayer becomes unselfed, as seen in the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Such ideas turn our thought from personal wants toward God and His idea. This turning is the key to healing.
