The tram was just metres apart from another after it crossed onto the wrong side of the tracks
Passengers were left stunned after a city centre tram switched to the wrong side of the tracks and almost collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The incident happened on Thursday, September 18, with commuters telling Nottinghamshire Live that they were, like the driver, confused as to what had caused the tram to switch onto the wrong tracks.
Nottingham Express Transit , the city's tram operator, has launched an investigation into the incident after the near-miss at Nottingham Train Station's tram stop.
An anonymous passenger recalled the incident. They said: "I was on the tram approaching the railway station stop in Nottingham, and it suddenly went onto the wrong side of the tracks.
