We've seen quite a few non-conference rivalries go by the wayside amid conference realignment, and unfortunately, the Battle for the Iron Skillet seems to be one of them.

TCU plays host to SMU in Fort Worth in Week 4 in what will be the 104th meeting between the two historic rivals, who have played each other in all but seven seasons since their first meeting in 1915. However, the 2025 matchup between the Horned Frogs and Mustangs is the last one currently on the schedule.

It's an interesting matchup between an SMU team that has disappointed so far and a TCU team that hasn't faced an FBS opponent since its Week 1 dismantling of North Carolina.

I do think Sonny Dykes will get the job done against his former team, however.
