1Brentwood, NY – A 42-year-old Salvadoran national wanted in his home country for violent crimes was arrested on Long Island after authorities discovered he was living just steps from a middle school, federal officials announced.
Homeland Security Investigations New York took Jamie Manual Perez Perez into custody on Sept. 3 during a vehicle stop in Brentwood, with assistance from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Perez Perez, an alleged associate of the MS-13 gang, was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice on charges of aggravated extortion and making threats to injure a person in El Salvador.
