Musician Zach King is bringing regional history to life with a new vinyl release that celebrates his original work and a forgotten chapter of American music.
King, who was named the 2024 Perry County Poet Laureate for his song “Perry County Waltz,” is preparing to release a limited-edition 45 RPM vinyl featuring that track along with his rendition of the 19th-century folk tune “The Blue Juniata.” Only 200 copies will be pressed, available for purchase online and at shows later this year.
The project is deeply rooted in Perry County, not only in theme and subject matter but in presentation.
