Newport Borough code enforcement officer Bruce Psaras unveiled a new complaint form residents can complete should they witness supposed violations of borough ordinances during the Sept. 2 council meeting.

The form has a check box for the nature of the complaint with the options of high grass, trash, signage, pest/insects, parking, occupancy, noise or other. The form also includes a box for describing where on a property the violation is occurring and one for additional information.

Discussion of codes and enforcement also featured prominently in the meeting. Councilman Jacob Zentichko reported the ordinance committee was proposing revisions to the borough’s soliciting and peddling ordinance with an updated fee structure.
