CONSTRUCTION is continuing at the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Torquay, with the facility undergoing crucial testing as it comes together.

The aquatic centre’s 25m pool, warm water program pool and in-built spa have all been filled and tested for leaks and structural integrity.

A behind-the-scenes look at the facility last week revealed the facility’s first floor has been constructed, the steel framework for the pool halls has been built, and roof installation has begun.

Surf Coast Shire mayor Mike Bodsworth celebrated the project’s progress.
