I do not remember having such an odd admixture of emotions while putting words to paper; the murder of Charlie Kirk has me bouncing back and forth between fury and brokenness, sometimes at the same exact moment.
Charlie Kirk was a believer in Christ; his open, unashamed testimony was unmistakable. He was a loving husband and father. He was also, though, the perfect example of what an American should be; he loved and believed in this nation, was peaceful and polished, and settled things by calm reasoning, even those with whom he stridently disagreed.
For all of this, he was murdered.
