CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man has been banned from Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) property after he allegedly brought a gun onto a light rail platform.
According to Mecklenburg County jail records, Thomas Paul, 28, is charged with possessing a dangerous weapon on city property.
According to court documents, Paul had a gun and was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the East/West Boulevard station in South End.
A judge ordered Paul not to return to any CATS property until after Sept. 30.
Paul’s bond was initially $5,000 but was reduced to $2,500 after a judge modified his release terms and changed his bond.
It’s against the CATS code of conduct to have a gun or any dangerous weapon on any CATS vehicle.
WBTV has reached out to CATS for a statement on the incident.
