Jack Garland Airport’s general manager is calling on the federal government to open the coffers and create a national strategy to ensure that all communities continue to have regional air service.

After 90 years the relationship between Jack Garland Airport and Air Canada is over.

“We are devastated by the airline’s decision, especially given the exceptionally long-standing relationship between our community, airport and Air Canada,” Avery said.

“Air Canada has consistently played a vital role in connecting North Bay to Toronto and beyond, and their decision will have a negative impact to our community and travelers alike,” he said.
