Family, friends and teammates are remembering Brenden Peters — a longtime Special Olympian, avid bowler and golfer, and devoted sports fan — after his sudden death earlier this month.

The 63-year-old, affectionately known as “Brendy,” died from injuries sustained when his bicycle collided with a pickup truck on Wellington Street East on Sept. 7.

For his brother, Terry Peters, the days since have been a blur — but also a chance to reflect on the quiet, steady way Brenden touched so many corners of the community. His funeral service, Terry said, was especially eye-opening.
