If you are a person who moves their houseplants outdoors for the summer, it’s time to bring everything back indoors. If the temperature drops below 5C, there is a chance for frost. Most, if not all our houseplants, will not survive a frost.
I also like to take cuttings from many of my planters to winter over and use the plants again. Some of the plants from which I take cuttings are coleus, fibrous begonias and impatiens as well as German ivy and just about any trailing foliage plant.

Here are a few tips about fall cuttings. Take cuttings from the tips or the youngest, newest growth. Cuttings should be about five centimetres long, about the length of your thumb. Remove the bottom leaves, leaving only two to four leaves at the tip.
