STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — The Georgia Southern Eagles amassed 516 yards of total offense along with 28 first downs in a decisive win over Maine on Saturday at Paluson Stadium.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 2-2 on the season and have now won back-to-back games for the first time.
Georgia Southern spread the offensive attack among several players. Six different Eagles scored touchdowns against Maine's defense.
Quarterback J.C. French IV went 19-for-31 for 253 passing yards on the night. French also threw for one touchdown and an interception.
"I think we just started playing our game," said French. "Taking what they were giving us, running the ball, the offensive line did a great job tonight."
