LOUDON, N.H. (WWLP) - The NASCAR Cup Series race will kick off Sunday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, marking the first race in the Round of 12 playoffs.
Drivers have been practicing on the unique track, known as the Magic Mile, as they prepare for the green flag to wave at 2 p.m.
"The restarts here is what makes it so unique and so treacherous," said Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. "We've seen so many accidents at this track, mostly happen in the first couple corners."
Saturday's races at the track, including the Whelen Modified Tour and the Craftsman Truck Series, saw several accidents, highlighting the challenges drivers face at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
