MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WATE) — The Morristown Hamblen Humane Society is facing one of the largest animal hoarding cases in its history, after taking in an overwhelming number of animals this weekend. 6 News visited the shelter to learn more about the ongoing Investigation and how the community is stepping up to help.

On Friday night, animal control removed 68 dogs, 3 cats, 8 quail, 4 ducks, and a mix of rabbits, chickens and one goat, all from a single home. The animals were given to the Morristown Hamblen Humane Society; that means the shelter was responsible for taking in around 184 extra animals.
