Alabama football didn’t play on Saturday. That proved to be a negative for the Crimson Tide when the coaches poll top 25 was released on Sunday.
UA fell two spots in the latest coaches poll. The Tide went from No. 14 last week, after beating Wisconsin, to No. 16.
When the Associated Press media poll was released later on Sunday, Alabama was No. 17. That was a three-position skid, after UA was ranked No. 14 last week.
Texas Tech jumped to No. 14 coaches, No. 12 AP with a win over Utah. Indiana also leapfrogged Alabama in both polls, moving up five spots to No. 12 in the coaches poll, No. 11 AP following a blowout victory over Illinois.
Georgia Tech also moved past Alabama in the AP poll. The Yellow Jackets moved to 16th in the rankings after beating Wake Forest.
