US President Donald Trump says media mogul Lachlan Murdoch is among a group of US investors involved in a proposed deal to keep TikTok operating in the United States.

The deal would see TikTok's American assets transferred from China's ByteDance to American owners.

Speaking on Fox News on Sunday morning, local time, Mr Trump added that business leaders Larry Ellison and Michael Dell would be involved as well.

The Murdoch family patriarch, 94-year-old Rupert Murdoch, may also be involved in the deal, Mr Trump said.

"I think they're going to do a really good job," Mr Trump said, calling them prominent people and "American patriots".

He said the US and China had made progress on negotiating the deal, and credited TikTok with helping build his support among young voters in the 2024 presid
