COLUMBUS, Ohio (WXIX) -Lawyers with the American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, of Ohio have filed a lawsuit against Ohio State University, OSU, after they claim a student at the university, was expelled over statements made on social media about Israel and Palestine.
In a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, the ACLU of Ohio claims that OSU violated Guy Christensen’s First and Fourteenth Amendment rights for “engaging in protected political speech.”
Christensen, who has over 3 million followers on TikTok, posted a series of videos on his social media pages in May, “expressing controversial political opinions relating to the Israel-Palestine conflict,” the lawsuit states.
The videos were in response to the two Israeli embassy staff members who were killed in Washington, D.C.
