WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church helped local families prepare for the new school year Saturday with its annual After-School-Start Bash.

The event began at 10 a.m. and offered free school supplies, new children’s clothing, haircuts, Bibles, and vaccinations. Community partners were also on-site, providing safety tips, resources, and support services.

“We understand that beyond everyday living, costs are just continuing to rise,” said Pastor Deron Talley. “Anything the church can do to give families a leg up in life, we’re trying to be there.”

The event aimed to ease the financial burden of back-to-school preparations and support families in need across the West Monroe community.
