Sep 21, 2025; Tampa, Florida, USA; Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (13) warms up before a game against the New York Jets at Raymond James Stadium.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are already missing several offensive starters due to injury. They may have suffered another one, as Mike Evans was banged up against the New York Jets.

Evans suffered a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers' Week 3 game against the Jets. Tampa Bay ruled the wide receiver out late in the fourth quarter after initially listing him as "questionable" to return.

Evans was seen hobbling off the field because of the malady and walked to the locker room with a heavy limp.

Evans also demonstrated frustration on the Buccaneers' sideline before making his way to the locker room. He was seen punching a cooler in anger and throwing his helmet after suffering the injury.

Evans made four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. As long as he is sidelined, Emeka Egbuka will serve as Tampa Bay's No. 1 receiver while Sterling Shepard and Ryan Miller will be in line for more snaps at the position.

Mike Evans injury update

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said during his postgame news conference that Evans had suffered a "hamstring tweak" against the Jets. He did not yet have any additional information about its severity.

"I have not gone in to see the final details yet," Bowles said.

The Buccaneers ruled Evans out for the remainder of their game against the Jets late in the fourth quarter. They had initially deemed him questionable to return because of the malady.
