CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a lackluster start to the 2025 season, Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales had his team ready to play with a resounding blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons.

The Panthers shut out the Falcons 30-0. It's the first shutout for the Panthers since Week 11 of 2020.

Atlanta gained more yards than the Panthers, but turnovers and other inefficiencies doomed Atlanta in the lopsided defeat.

Game recap

The Falcons reached Panthers territory on the game’s opening drive, but John Parker Romo missed a 49-yard field goal. Atlanta signed Romo this week after cutting Younghoe Koo.

On the ensuing drive, Young capped an efficient drive with his first rushing score of the season with a 4-yard scramble. The drive included a 23-yard pass to Tetairoa McMillan on a 4th down.
