A teenage boy and girl have been charged following a wild pursuit starting in Sydney’s west and ending in the city’s Inner West on Saturday night.

About 9.15pm on Saturday, Cumberland Highway Patrol attempted to stop a Citroen sedan, believed to be stolen, on Reservoir Road in Blacktown.

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated on the M4 motorway, continuing through to James Street, Leichhardt.

The stolen car crashed into two parked vehicles, rammed three police cars and drove towards officers.

An officer fired a shot at the oncoming vehicle, and another discharged a taser before the car left the scene.

A 27-year-old male officer fell to the ground and hit his head.
