A reader asked if it was true that Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward ever owned a house on the lakes in Baton Rouge.

A rumor circulated around Baton Rouge in the 1980s and '90s that Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were updating a particular home on the University Lakes off Stanford Avenue. Through the years, the Hollywood-Baton Rouge real estate connection has continued to linger.

The property in question has consistently been the beautiful home at 3465 E. Lakeshore Drive reached all the way back to Hyacinth Avenue.

Though false, the real estate whispers continued.
