CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The attorney for a former Charleston County magistrate judge facing a charge of possessing child sex abuse materials has filed a new motion in another attempt to grant him bond.

James Gosnell Jr. has been in jail since a hearing earlier this week. In the new filing made on Sunday, Gosnell’s attorney, Lionel Lofton, argued that the evidence provided proved to be an isolated incident with no pattern of inappropriate behavior from Gosnell, and that he has no criminal history or any alleged inappropriate activity with minors.

Gosnell is facing charges of possession of child sex abuse materials, though the total number of counts he could face is still unclear.
