The Hartford Athletic said they canceled Saturday's match due to a player of the opposing team's alleged use of "racially offensive language."
In a statement on social media, the Hartford Athletic said the alleged comment was made by a Pittsburgh player and the team "did not feel comfortable proceeding with the match."

The Hartford Athletic said an on-field verbal exchange between a Pittsburgh and Hartford Athletic player occurred.
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC deny that any racially offensive language was used.
"Our organization takes any allegation of discriminatory or offensive language extremely seriously," the statement reads. "We stand by our players and firmly deny that such language was used."
